Hope Star Sports The Ladycats once again split wins in a double header against the Magnolia Lady Panthers to finish out summer softball play Thursday night at Ladycat Yard. The Ladycats came up short in the first game losing 4-3, but shutout the Lady Panthers in the second game winning 7-0. Hope finished out the summer softball play 9-3.

Belvitch Mary Lou Belvitch, 72, of Beloit, passed away Wednesday in Windsor, Ohio at the home of her daughter. A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. July 11 at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church.

For much of her adult life, Bayside Hills resident Margaret Battle was known as the “First Lady” of the neighborhood. She was an active member in the Bayside Hills Civic Association (BHCA), a school teacher, a church organist and friend to many residents throughout the community.
