State Sen. E.B. McClain took nearly half of the $700,000 in state grants he helped a Birmingham minister obtain for poor seniors and disadvantaged students, according to a 50-count federal indictment unsealed Thursday.
An attorney for state Sen. E.B. McClain said he is expecting his client, who is already facing a state theft charge, to be named in a federal criminal indictment.
