Düsseldorf airline TRIPLE ALPHA is offering its customers a new service. Starting from now, free flight capacity - "Empty Legs" - will be displayed on TRIPLE ALPHA's homepage. Empty legs are routes that are flown without passengers.
The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee approved a NASA authorization bill this week that would forbid the U.S. space agency from retiring the space shuttle before completing all remaining missions, including an additional flight to deliver the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) to the International Space Station.
Legislation that would add an extra shuttle mission to NASA's schedule and an extra $1 billion to its budget was approved Tuesday by a Senate panel. The bill now heads to the full Senate, where it is expected to pass as easily as a similar bill approved by the House, 409-15, last week.
